Internal Audit Unit [ Reports and Information ]
Mission Statement: To provide professional internal auditing services, in accordance with applicable professional standards, to the County of Broome. To help the organization to identify and control business risks. To help insure that the county's resources are used in an ethical, effective and efficient manner and that assets are adequately safeguarded.
Accounting Unit [ Reports and Information ]
Mission Statement: To ensure that all County bank accounts are reconciled in a proper and timely manner.
Accounts Payable Unit [ Reports and Information ]
Mission Statement: To provide the final review and approval for all disbursements of County funds, and to do so in a fair, efficient and expeditious manner.
Assigned Counsel Unit [ Reports and Information ]
Mission Statement: To administer and provide oversight relative to the disbursement of funds for the provision of indigent defense services in Broome County (except in cases where such services are provided directly by the Broome County Public Defender's Office).
Weights and Measures Unit [ Reports and Information ]
Mission Statement: To assure a fair and equitable marketplace, for both the buyer and the seller, by conducting annual inspections and testing of commercially used weighing and measuring devices. To enforce New York State Agriculture and Markets Law Article 16, the New York State Code of Rules and Regulations 1NYCRR - Parts 220 through 224, and apply the procedures set forth by the National Institute of Standards.
