Binghamton to Host EPA Public Meeting at the Forum Theatre

(Binghamton, NY) Broome County’s Forum Theater will play host next week to the latest Environmental Protection Agency public meetings focusing on the natural gas industry’s use of hydraulic fracturing in the Marcellus Shale. The EPA is holding these meetings to gather public input on its proposed frac study.
The meetings will take place Monday, September 13th and Wednesday, September 15th at the Forum Theatre on Washington St. in Binghamton. Anyone interested in speaking at one of the public sessions is encouraged to register at the following link: http://hfmeeting.cadmusweb.com/RegistrationForm.aspx .

“We are pleased to be able to host this important event in our community,” said Executive Fiala. “This will give our residents on both sides of this controversial and important issue a chance to have their voices heard.”
Residents planning to attend the event are reminded they cannot bring any signs, backpacks, bags or large containers into the theater. Liquids will also be confiscated.
