Broome County STOP-DWI Announces Lineup for the 2010 Chris Thater Memorial Music Festival

Binghamton, NY) Broome County STOP-DWI is pleased to announce plans for the 2010 Chris Thater Memorial Music Festival. For the second year the Chris Thater Memorial – recognized as one of America’s premier cycling and running events – will feature a music festival with eighteen bands. The Chris Thater Memorial Music Festival will take place August 28-29th at Recreation Park in Binghamton.

“Last year we added a music festival to the Chris Thater Memorial and it was a tremendous success. Spectators were able to watch world class racing while being entertained by some outstanding local bands. The music festival will grow from 12 to 18 bands this year”, said James F. May, Broome County STOP-DWI Coordinator.
The following bands will perform at the 2010 Chris Thater Memorial Music Festival:
SmithSmith, Mel and the Boys, Four I, Pat & Dickie, One Click Culture, Bad Weather Blues, Pagnigma, Ed Maloney Pipe Band, Panhandle, Voodoo Highway, Magnolia Drive, Terry Walker Project, Stoddard Hollow String Band, The Shambles, Old Friends, Dirt Farm, the Boogiemen and the Scott Freeman Band.
The Chris Thater Memorial Music Festival will take place at Recreation Park in Binghamton on Saturday, August 28th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, August 29th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please visit for a schedule of performances.
2010 marks the 27th year of the Chris Thater Memorial. This free community event is organized to heighten awareness about drunk driving and to promote healthy lifestyles. It is named in honor of Chris Thater, an avid cyclist who was killed by a drunk driver.
