Registration Information

To obtain a registration form, you can print the form from this site (the voter registration form), pick a form up at any postoffice, or call the board of elections at 607.778.2172 and request a form be mailed.

 

GENERAL ELECTION - TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2011

Polls are open 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Registration deadline information:

Friday, October 14, 2011 - Last day to register for the 2011 General Election.  Registration forms must be postmarked 10/14/11 and received by 10/19/11.

Friday, October 14, 2011 - Last day to change enrollment for 2012 Elections.  Registration forms must be postmarked 10/14/11.                                                                                                               NOTE:  A change of enrollment made after this date will not take effect until after the General Election in 2012

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 - Last day to update your address for the 2011 General Election.  Form must be received by 5:00pm.

Please note: as long as you will be 18 by election day (11/8/11) you can register to vote for this election.

Registration general information

If you are a registered voter in Broome County, and have moved within the county after October 13th, please call the Election Office at 778.2172 for information on voting at your new polling place.

Absentee Ballot Information

Any registered voter who will be absent from broome county on election day, or who is ill can vote by absentee ballot.

To obtain an absentee ballot a voter must fill out an application which can be obtained from this site (absentee ballot form) or by calling the Board of Elections at 607.778.2172. The form must contain the following information:

  • If you will be out of the county, your name, broome county address, phone number and date of birth, the address where you would like your ballot mailed to (if left blank it will go to your home address), the dates you will be absent from the county and where you will be. Make sure the application is signed and dated.
  • If due to an illness, check either the temporary illness box or if it is a permanent illness, fill out the d section "only for permanent illness or disability" it does not need to be completed by your physician.
