Electronic Filing (e-Filing)
The County Clerk's Office has begun an electronic document filing system
(e-filing) for all civil action cases in partnership with the local court system. Broome County is currently the only county in New York State authorized to accept any and all types of civil action e-filings.
The court fees can be paid online by credit card and there are no additional fees for using the electronic system. The e-filing program is voluntary and those who use the system can file documents at any hour of the day from anywhere in the world where internet access is available.
Attorneys filing for a Supreme Court matter in Broome County courts can register for the e-filing system through the state court website at http://www.NYCourts.gov/efile.
Forms and answers to frequently asked questions are also available on that website. Informational packets concerning the e-filing system are available at both the Broome County Clerk's Office and the New York State Supreme Court Sixth Judicial District Clerk's Office.
The complete listing of “E-Filing Rules” (Uniform Rule 202.5-b) is available in PDF form on the main page of the County Clerk's section of this website.
