19 Properties to be Auctioned by Broome County

Binghamton, NY – Broome County Executive Debbie Preston and Real Property Director David Hamlin announced details of the upcoming auction of 19 tax foreclosure properties in the City of Binghamton and throughout Broome County.

The auction is Thursday, June 26th at the Holiday Inn, Binghamton (2-8 Hawley Street) starting at 6:00 pm.

Auction bidders must register between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm that evening.

“In our continuing effort to clean up our communities, we are auctioning off these properties in hopes that a new buyer will come in and clean them up,” says Broome County Executive Debbie Preston.  “These properties could be a great starter home for young families in our community or a great place to start a new business.”

These properties include single family homes, multi-family homes, warehouses, commercial buildings, vacant lots and more.

“These auctions are a win-win for the community because people can get a great deal on a property while helping to clean up our neighborhoods,” says Real Property Director Dave Hamlin.  “And it gets these properties back on the tax rolls which benefits all Broome County residents.”

All properties in the auction are sold as is.

There will be open houses on several of the properties on Sunday, June 22 and Monday, June 23.

There will be one final open house on Tuesday, June 24th from 4:00 to 5:30pm at 140 Washington Avenue in Endicott. This is a 36,000 sq. commercial building that is ready for occupancy.

Maps of each parcel are available for viewing in the office of the Broome County Real Property Tax Department, second floor in the County Office Building, 44 Hawley Street, Binghamton, NY, during regular business hours.
