County Executive Garnar Extends Hours at Cole, Dorchester & Greenwood Parks This Weekend (July 20-21)

(BINGHAMTON, NY) Broome County Executive Jason Garnar announced today that he has directed the Broome County Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services to extend the hours for the beach areas at several Broome County parks this weekend - Cole Park, Dorchester Park and Greenwood Park - due to the expected high temperatures and humidity.

For Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 - the beach areas at Cole Park in the Town of Colesville, Dorchester Park in the Town of Triangle and Greenwood Park in the Town of Lisle will open one hour earlier starting at 10AM and remain open an additional hour, closing at 8PM.

Regular weekend hours for beach areas at the parks are 11AM-7:30PM.

“I want everyone in Broome County to be safe and stay hydrated this weekend with the extremely high temperatures we are expecting. No better way to beat the heat by enjoying one of our great county parks, at no cost, and swim in the beach areas with your family and friends,” said County Executive Garnar.

Admission to Broome County parks is free.
