(BINGHAMTON- NY) Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala and Broome County Transit Commissioner George Bagnetto have announced that BC Transit will again add a stop at Otsiningo Park for the Farmers Market this summer. The new stop will be added to the Front Street Route beginning Saturday May 2nd, 2009. Located in Ostiningo Park, the Farmers Market sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension, takes place each Saturday from 9am until 2pm from May until October.

“This summer, BC Transit will again offer a stop at the Farmers Market in Otsiningo Park each Saturday,” stated Executive Barbara J. Fiala. “We hope riders will take advantage of improved access to the park and the weekend market. The Farmers Market has grown over the years and we are pleased to have vendors located in the park offering a variety of affordable, fresh, locally grown vegetables and goods.”

In its third year, the Farmers Market in Otsiningo Park offers several kiosks of locally grown vegetables, meats, herbs and goods. Each Saturday local farmers and purveyors assemble in the park’s northwest parking lot.
