Broome County Forum Theatre – Renovations and Upgrades

Today County Executive Patrick Brennan and Veterans Memorial Arena and Forum Theatre Manager Brian Hoffman led a tour of the Broome County Performing Arts Theatre, The Forum Theatre.  The tour was to show the progress of the renovations of the Forum Theatre.

Renovations include the replacement of all 1519 seats, new carpeting, energy efficient lighting, and new paint in the auditorium, lobby and recital hall.  The project is being funded through the Broome County Capital Improvement Program.

Start date June 27th

Projected completion date Sept. 12th

Total project projected cost approximately $460,000.00

All 1,519 seats being replaced

Lobby and Recital being repainted; new carpeting; new lighting

Auditorium repainted, additional lighting, new chandeliers, relocation of the sound and lighting area. 

All work being done by local contractors, except for the production and installation of the seats. 

       Breakdown:

     Seats:                               $203,037.00

     Construction                      $162,000.00

     Architect/Engineering          $40,000.00

     Painting/Carpeting/Lighting  $55,000.00

Present for the tour were officials from the Binghamton Philharmonic, Tri Cities Opera Company, Broadway Theater League.
