Clearing up Confusion related to NYS Rebate Programs
Recently, there has been some confusion about two different programs offered by the State of New York. With this story, we seek to provide information to help people understand the two programs.
On September 14th, Governor Cuomo announced an $8 million appliance and equipment rebate program to help those who sustained property damage resulting from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee to help them recover and rebuild. All grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for completed applications, which will be available beginning Monday, September 19 at www.NYSApplianceRebates.com or by calling 1-877-NY-SMART (877-697-6278). The grant program will continue until funding runs out.
Over the Labor Day weekend, the state offered a $3 million rebate program entitled, "Buy Green, Save Green" which has since closed and all of the money granted.
