County Executive Debbie Preston Opens Office To All

(Binghamton, NY) -- Broome County Executive Debbie Preston on Tuesday held her first weekly Open Office Hours on the 6th floor of the County Office Building.

Preston, a firm believer that the residents of Broome County should have access to her -- and the offices which they pay for with their tax dollars -- has renamed the Executive’s Office the “People’s Office”.

“It’s their floor and it’s their office; I’m just the current caretaker,” said Preston.

Preston and her staff will take every comment into consideration, and with due diligence get answers and information back to residents in a timely manner.  The first open office hours brought forth concerns with ongoing flood issues and BC Transit.

“I want people to bring their ideas, suggestions and concerns directly to me. This is different from how it’s been done in the past,” she went on to say.

Open Office Hours will take place each Tuesday from 9-11am.  Those who plan to attend must pass through standard building security and should bring a photo ID.  Those who wish to attend but have other obligations can call the People’s Office to make other arrangements, at (607) 778-2109.
