(Binghamton, NY-) Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala joined Governor David Paterson and other state leaders at an afternoon news conference in Albany calling on the State Senate to convene and end the gridlock that has ensued over the past three weeks. Today the Senate was called into session after a court order was issued. They met briefly and adjourned without conducting any significant legislative action.

“At this most crucial time we need leadership and action- not political deadlock,” said Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala. “It is time our state leaders in the senate take action for the people of New York State.”
