Beauty and the Beast Gala set for June 3, 2011

(Binghamton, NY)  Friends of the Forum were joined by NAC Entertainment (Broadway Theatre League) and Court St. Redevelopment (Premier Sponsor of the event) at a news conference held Tuesday morning at the historic Forum Theatre to reveal new supporting Cast Sponsors: Wendy’s, Upstate Office Furniture and the Press and Sun-Bulletin for the Beauty and the Beast Gala which will be held on Friday, June 3^rd, starting at 5:00pm. The gala will be the next major fundraiser in support of renovations at the Forum Theatre.

The Forum is one our community’s greatest cultural landmarks.  The Forum is not only on the National List of Historic Places, it is also our area’s premier venue for the performing arts.  The Broadway Theatre League, Binghamton Philharmonic and Tri Cities Opera, all utilize the Forum as their main stage. The Forum is also home to many other musical, dance and comedy performances.

The Friends of the Forum hosted its first fundraising event in December 2009.  The Mamma Mia! Gala raised $50,000.  Our second event was a cocktail party in conjunction with the Tri-Cities Opera, showcasing the La Traviata Opera.  That event raised $3,000.   Now we are looking forward to June 3^rd, 2011 when we will host another gala celebration featuring the Broadway classic, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
