Modeling and Simulation Marketing Video Debut

(BINGHAMTON, NY) Thursday, Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala, representatives of the Greater Binghamton Modeling and Simulation Coalition and economic development partners joined together to launch a new promotional video for the region. The two minute video features Greater Binghamton’s past, present and future role in the modeling and simulation (M & S) industry. It highlights the tremendous expertise that currently exists within our local companies and educational institutions. “We are a high-tech, innovative region and I am not sure we always get credit for having such a diverse economy,” said Executive Fiala. “That is why we have identified this industry cluster and are working to make people aware of it. In turn we believe it will help improve our image and our reputation as a place not just where IBM and Link Aviation were born but a place where innovation is still being nurtured and created.”

Last year, economic development agencies, local M & S companies, representatives from Binghamton University and Broome Community College worked in partnership to create the Greater Binghamton Modeling and Simulation Coalition. The coalition aims to build upon the strengths of area M&S companies and to bolster the community’s reputation as the “Home to Simulation”. The video was created along with printed marketing materials to highlight local companies and their distinct innovative technologies.

“Greater Binghamton’s strong cluster of modeling and simulation companies along with the quality programs at Binghamton University and Broome Community College gives our community a good story to sell,” said Richard D’Attilio, Executive Director, Broome County Industrial Development Agency. “We are proud to be a partner in this effort to market these great assets.”

To date, M & S Coalition members include: Binghamton Simulator Company, Diamond Visionics, L-3, Link Simulation and Training, Rockwell Collins Simulation and Training, RPA Electronics Solutions, Inc., Simulation and Control Technologies, Inc., Virtusphere, Concurrent and D& R Technical Solutions.

“I have been fortunate to be associated with most if not all of these Companies, Agencies, Colleges, and the University,” said David Gdovin President and Founding Owner of Diamond Visionics located in Vestal, NY. “Together we make each other truly world class. This marketing video highlights our innovation history and the great opportunities here in Greater Binghamton.”

The new modeling and simulation marketing video can be viewed at: www.greaterbinghamton.com and www.bcida.com The video will also be submitted to SIM TV, the internet television network for the simulation and training industry.
