Broome County Distributes 16,000 Cloth Masks to Public

(TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) Broome County officials announced today 16,000 cloth masks have been distributed to the public out of the 68,000 received by the Broome County Emergency Operations Center Wednesday.

Starting Monday, 30,000 masks will be available at the Broome County school meal distribution sites in various municipalities. In addition to that if you need a mask this weekend, 10,000 masks will be available to the public on Saturday, April 25 at the following locations:

  • Otsiningo Park
    • 1 Otsiningo Park, Binghamton, NY 13905
    • 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • Former Macy’s building at the Oakdale Mall
    • 601-635 Harry L Dr, Johnson City, NY 13790
    • 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The remaining masks of the 68,000 are being set aside for Broome County’s vulnerable population, who are unable to go out to pick them up, and Broome County’s first responders.

Again, the number of masks available is limited. Mask distribution is limited to 1 mask per person, per household. There will be a 5-mask limit per household. The goal is to make sure every Broome County resident 2 years and older has access to a mask. CDC guidance does not recommend masks on infants younger than 2.

If you already have a reusable mask you DO NOT need another one. People can also call 2-1-1 for additional help.
