County Law Approaches One Year Anniversary

Taxi Drivers in BroomeCounty who got licenses in June of last year are facing an important deadline.  Many of the one-year licenses are expiring on June 30^th.  But, license renewal applications must be submitted at least thirty days prior to its expiration.  So, drivers must submit their renewal application by May 31^st.  The renewal fee is $60.00.  Taxicab license renewal applications submitted less than thirty days prior to the expiration date will be treated as a new application, which costs $120.

BroomeCounty Executive Patrick J. Brennan said, “there are more than 100 taxi drivers whose licenses are expiring at the end of June.  We notified all of the taxi companies about a week ago so hopefully the companies will spread the word and their drivers will make their application before the end of May or else they have to start all over and go through the full application process.”
