Binghamton, NY. – Broome County residents need to be aware of a suspicious internet site that is currently being investigated by the New York State Division of Fraud Investigations Unit.  “The website www.dmvauthority.org is not a NYS DMV website!” warns Rick Blythe, County Clerk.  We have reports that “Individuals who have tried to transact their business through this site have paid extra money for the ‘convenience’ and received nothing in return.  Upon contacting the NYS DMV offices, there is no evidence of their transaction.”  Anyone who has interacted with the site should contact the Attorney General’s Office to file an official complaint.  

 

Every authentic NYSDMV site has the seal of the state of New York on it and references Governor David A. Paterson and DMV Commissioner David J. Swarts.
