Dorchester Park to Host Rowers from Across NYS

(Binghamton, NY) Broome County’s Dorchester Park will be the site of the New York State Collegiate Rowing Championships this weekend. The event which has been held annually in Whitney Point for the last 10 years will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 1st and 2nd.
The official event will take place Saturday from 8am until noon and Sunday from 8am until 11am. The public is invited and encouraged to come out, free of charge, to watch the races and cheer on the rowers. More than 1200 rowers are expected to participate.
The media is invited to come out over the weekend to cover the event and is also encouraged to visit Dorchester Park on Friday when many of the teams will be practicing for the competition. For more information on Friday activities, contact us and we will give you the best time frame to target.
Binghamton University will be participating along with nearly 30 other teams from across New York State. The list of teams includes:
Albany, Army, Binghamton, Buffalo, Canisus, Cazenovia, Clarkson, Colgate, Dowling, D'Youville College, Fordham, Geneseo, Hamilton, Hobart, Hofstra, Iona, Ithaca, Manhattan, Marist, NYU, Oswego, Rensselaer, RIT, Rochester, Sarah Lawrence, Skidmore, St. Lawrence, Stonybrook, Union College, USMMA, Vassar, and William Smith.
