Call for Entries - 2009 Joyce K.L. Smith Environmental Photography Show & Competition

(BINGHAMTON-NY) The Broome County Environmental Management Council (EMC) invites amateur photographers, and local high school students to submit photographs of Broome County’s environment for the 2009 Joyce K.L. Smith Environmental Photography Show & Competition. The intention is to showcase all aspects of Broome County’s natural and cultural environments.
Entrants may submit up to three (3) photographs for consideration in five (5) categories: wildlife, plant life, natural landscape, cultural landscape, and people in action. A panel of professionals will select one (1) winner and up to five (5) runners-up in each category. The best submission from a local high school student will also receive recognition. The entry deadline is Wednesday, March 11.
Co-sponsors Silver Image Photographics, Garland Gallery, Che Bella! Fine Framing, and The Beveled Edge will furnish prizes. Winners and honorable mentions will be exhibited at the Broome County Library during the months of May and June. The public is invited to an opening reception and awards ceremony Wednesday, May 13 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Library.
