Free Landlord Seminar to be Held at Broome County Health Department
BINGHAMTON, NY – The Broome County Health Department’s Tobacco Control and Lead Prevention Programs, in partnership with ACCORD, A Center for Dispute Resolution, are coordinating a Landlord Seminar on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Broome County Health Department located at 225 Front Street, Binghamton, NY. The purpose of the seminar is to provide landlords with information to assist them in increasing property values, lowering maintenance and repair costs, adopting smoke free policies and preventing childhood lead poisoning including renovating lead surfaces correctly.
Landlords attending the seminar will receive a smoke free housing toolkit and be assessed for eligibility to receive up to $500 worth of supplies for lead remediation work. The seminar will begin with a free breakfast and participants will be entered to win door prizes.

Tobacco Free Broome & Tioga is funded by the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Tobacco Use Prevention and Control. The goal of the TCP is to increase the capacity of Bureau funded partners to change tobacco policies and social norms.
