County Legislature to host tree planting ceremony

(Binghamton, NY) Members of the Broome County Legislature will host a tree planting ceremony at Otsiningo Park as part of the Green Initiative Recognition Program on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. This week, Legislative Chairman Daniel D. Reynolds (Vestal) will announce the recipients of this year’s Green Initiative Recognition Program awards at the legislative session on April 22^nd. As a further recognition of their efforts, a tree will be planted in a county park for each award recipient. Chairman Reynolds will plant the first tree with several of the award recipients during Friday’s ceremony.

The trees will be supplied by the Broome County Soil and Water Conservation District. This event is open to the public.
