Alcohol server training program to be offered

The Broome County STOP-DWI Program in conjunction with the Broome County District Attorney’s Office, will offer a “TIPS” (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) alcohol server training awareness program for area restaurants, hotels, bars, and nightclubs.

The “TIPS” Program will be offered on
Monday, November 14th
9:00am – 3:00pm
at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel
225 Water Street, Binghamton.
 
            The “TIPS” Program’s goal is to empower participants to follow acceptable standards of              
             practice for serving alcohol beverages. The program is New York State TIPS certified.
            
             There are numerous benefits for establishments having their servers attend the “TIPS”
             Training Program:     
ü      Helps to reduce incidences of driving while intoxicated (DWI)
ü      Heightens awareness, skills, and professionalism of the servers
ü      Enhances community standing for the business establishment
ü      Other possible benefits include: insurance discounts, regulatory compliance, and legal protection (in the form of “TIPS” providing a “reasonable efforts defense”).
 
To attend the “TIPS” Program, there is a registration fee of $25.00 per person.
(The fee covers the cost of attendee’s manual, handouts, lunch, and the “TIPS” certified instructor fee.)
