Ron Heebner (R) was first elected in 2011, and was re-elected to a new term representing Legislative District 11 in 2016. District 11 includes Southside Johnson City, Westover, Fairmont Park, and three districts in Westside Binghamton.  He previously served in the Legislature from 2011-2012, where he represented the 17th Legislative District.  He discovered that no logs were kept for county employee take-home vehicles and shepherded the law that mandates those records be kept. He also focused on the practice of automatic renewal of contracts and brought to the attention of county department heads that the competitive bidding of contracts is expected.

Born in Philadelphia, Ron has a BA from Westchester State College (PA) majoring in history, is an advocate of the Constitution of the United States as created by the Founding Fathers, and strives for less government power and control.  He is a strong believer in the ownership of private property.  His entire career has been rooted in private enterprise as a salesman of the former Scott Paper Company, Pat Cummiskey & Son of Johnson City, and owner of his own housing business for 26 years in Johnson City.  He served on the Board of Directors of the Southern Tier Home Builders & Remodelers Association for 15 years and is a former President.  He was a member of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce and served on its Legislative Committee for 25 years.

Ron believes that small business growth is the key to economic prosperity and job creation.  He strives for more business ownership opportunity for all of our residents.

Ron is married to Patricia Sinicki Heebner who is active with him as Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. Vincent de Paul and Blessed Sacrament Church.

Ron and Patti organize and maintain several of the DOT Gardens at the Johnson City Roundabout.  They are also the Davis College 2014 Philanthropic Leadership Award Winners.

Ron served as the 2015-16 President of the Johnson City Rotary Club.
