Free Concerts Returning to Otsiningo Park This Summer

Binghamton, NY - Broome County Executive Debbie Preston announces the return of the Broome Bands Together weekly summer concert series, sponsored by Coughlin and Gerhart LLP.

Broome Bands Together will take place at Otsiningo Park each Tuesday at 6:30pm from June 7 – July 19. Each week a different local band will take the stage.  Coughlin & Gerhart provided $6,000 to fund the concerts and keep them free to the public.

“The Broome Bands Together Concert series is one of my favorite events of the entire summer,” says Broome County Executive Debbie Preston.  “I want to thank our partners at Coughlin and Gerhart for stepping up to the plate and sponsoring this wonderful event in Otsiningo Park.  You can tell by the growing crowds each week how much the people truly enjoy these free concerts.”

  • June 7th:  Shambles
  • June 14th: Rooster and the Roadhouse Horns
  • June 21st: Katie Scott with Persuasion
  • June 28th: Brotherhood
  • July 5th: Los Vega
  • July 12th: Rich Wilson
  • July 19th: Outer Reef

Preston started hosting a free weekly summer concert series while Town Supervisor in Conklin and brought the idea to Broome County.

“We have a great lineup of local bands for this summer, with something for everyone,” says Preston.  “We encourage everyone to come to the park, bring a picnic and enjoy some of our local talent, all free of charge.”

People are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.  While concession stands will be open, people are welcome to bring their own refreshments.  Alcohol and tobacco products are prohibited.

Here is a little background on each of the performers:

 

June 7th: Shambles:

Shambles is a Celtic/Folk/Rock band playing a mix of new and old Celtic music in the Southern Tier.

 

June 14th: Rooster and the Roadhouse Horns

They perform music from the 40’s through today’s hits, touching nearly every genre of music.  This is a band that plays something the whole family can enjoy.

 

June 21st: Katie Scott with Persuasion:

Their music genre is classic rock/dance. Their band members consist of Katie, Ed, Kip, Scott, Sean and Tony.

 

June 28th: Brotherhood: They cover all types of music. Their song list consists of songs from Sinatra and Phantom of the Opera to Lady Gaga, Usher, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, Cee Lo Green and JLo. Their band members consist of Carl (saxophone), Jim (keyboard), Kassie (vocalist) and Nate (bongo).

 

July 5th: Los Vega:

Los Vega is a blend of contemporary music, classic rock and Italian music in the Southern Tier and surrounding areas.  Their band members consist of Pierre Figuccio (vocalist), Nick Putrino (guitarist), Tony Putrino (drummer) and Brad Nemcek (drummer).

 

July 12th: Rich Wilson

Rich Wilson has been performing for over 40 years with his baritone vocals with legendary songs of yesteryears, including songs of such legends as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Johnny Ray, Johnny Cash and Fats Domino.

 

July 19th: Outer Reef:

Outer Reef plays songs of the summer that makes you feel like you’re on vacation.  Their song list consists of Jimmy Buffett, Zac Brown, Erick Clapton, the Ventures, The Shadows, Booker T., Eddy Grant, The Champs, The Wipeouts, The Beach Boys, the Beatles and the Sufaris.  Their band members consist of Dave Ballard (drums), Howie Robinson (keyboard) and David Shoudy (guitar).
