Walk 'N' Roll 2004 :: Saturday, May 15 - Saturday, May 22

Since 1997, the Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study, through its Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee, has commemorated May as National Bike Month by organizing a program entitled, Walk 'N' Roll. Walk 'N' Roll 2004 is a week-long celebration of bicycling, walking, and in-line skating as safe, environmentally friendly, and healthy alternatives to motor vehicles.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION

"REDISCOVERING THE JOYS OF BICYCLING"

Come and hear Lois Chaplin, Bicycle Safety Specialist at Cornell University.

  • Get back into bicycling.
  • Remember the joys when you were a kid.
  • Learn how to get over the intimidation.
  • Get back into a healthful activity.

BRING YOUR BIKES!

8:00 - 9:00 PM
Bike Fitting & Inspection Clinic
Local bike shops will conduct a bike fitting and inspection clinic following the presentation.

Bike Helmet Fitting
Representatives from the Broome County Health Department will be on hand to provide instruction about proper helmet fitting.

BMTS encourages people in the community to take advantage of the opportunities provided by Walk 'N' Roll 2004.
