Broome County Awarded Local Government Efficiency Grant to Study Consolidated Code Enforcement

(Binghamton- NY) Today, the New York State Department ofState Division of Local Government announced 2008-2009 Local Government Efficiency Grant Program Awards. In total $10,136,198.52 was awarded to local governments for various efficiency and consolidation efforts across the state.  In February, Broome County in partnership with the Town of Kirkwood submitted a grant application for $37,500 that was approved to study countywide code enforcement.

BINGHAMTON, NY- The Broome County Health Department is offering a special summer program where children between the ages of 4 and 16 can have their teeth cleaned, dental sealants applied and a comprehensive dental exam done by a licensed dentist to determine their dental needs. Upon completion of the examination, a dental health certificate will be issued for school purposes. 

Broome-Tioga Greenride Launches

(Binghamton) Today, local officials joined Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study (BMTS) Director Steven Gayle at a morning news conference to launch Broome-Tioga Greenride, afree Internet-based rideshare matching service for commuters and other ride-seekers. The new website allows individuals find transportation alternatives to driving alone.
