Local officials, business owners and the public are invited to attend a Flood Mitigation Workshop, hosted by the Broome County Department of Planning and Economic Development.

This event will provide an opportunity to get an overview of the September 2011 flood event, followed by a discussion of mitigation strategies for minimizing the impacts of flooding in our community, what works and what doesn’t. Speakers include experts from the NYSDEC, NOAA, Soil and Water Conservation, and local engineering firms.

This workshop will be the first in a series hosted by Broome County to provide information about flooding and flood mitigation issues.
