"Friends" Exhibit Highlighting Drunk Driving Tragedy Stops In Broome
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala is pleased to join STOP-DWI Coordinator Jim May in announcing the arrival of the "Friends" exhibit in Binghamton. The exhibit tells the story of an alcohol related crash that claimed the lives of four people and injured three others. One of the main stories in the exhibit involves the three teenage friends from the Norwich area whose lives were cut short by this horrible crash.
The exhibit includes photographs and mementos of the three teenage girls whose lives were lost. It also includes photos and personal items belonging to another male college student who died in the accident at Colgate University in 2000.
The exhibit is designed to make college age and high school students aware of how quickly the lives of those involved in DWI tragedies can change. The exhibit is designed evoke an emotional reaction from those who view it with the hopes of changing behaviors.
The exhibit is on display, March 23rd - April 30th from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday) in the First Floor Community Room of the State Office Building in Binghamton.
