Executive Fiala Announces Return of Greater Binghamton Air Show
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala is excited to announce the return of our highly successful Greater Binghamton Air Show in 2006. This ground breaking event will showcase new venues in the air show industry and is sure to thrill spectators with an exciting twist.
We are proud to announce that in 2006 not only will many nationally known U.S. Military and civilian aerobatic performers take to our skies - they will do so in a whole new environment. For the first time locally, spectators from across the region will be able to witness the latest phenomenon in air shows - A NIGHT AIR SHOW. The crowd will certainly be in awe as they watch powerful jet aerial performances at dusk and as they view must-see nighttime historic war bird and glider routines that brighten the skies of Broome County with pyrotechnics equipment. Further, in a patriotic finale, an exciting fireworks display will be offered commemorating Independence Day and Broome County’s Bicentennial celebration.
Following the excitement of the Night Show, which is scheduled for June 30th, a traditional day air show will be held on Saturday, July 1st. The day show will offer the same exhilaration as the air shows of the past by showcasing top level aerial performances for the pleasure of our community.
Admission and parking costs will be announced as the event day draws closer.
