Delta Air Lines Adds Non-Stop Service To Atlanta From The Greater Binghamton Airport
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala is pleased to announce that, beginning this summer, Delta Air Lines customers will be able to take advantage of new non-stop service between the Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Using quiet and comfortable Bombardier CRJ200 regional jet aircraft, Delta will be flying twice daily between BGM and ATL.
With these flights starting June 8th, this new direct service will not only give Binghamton air travelers direct access to the beautiful state of Georgia, but it will also allow fliers to benefit from the incredible connectivity of ATL. From Delta Air Lines alone, Atlanta International Airport, provides travelers with access to more than 240 destinations around the globe, including extensive flight schedules to Europe, Latin America and all 50 states. The two (2) new flights to Atlanta will replace the two (2) flights to Cincinnati. The airport in Cincinnati offers about half of the connectivity offered at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
“After engaging in discussions with Delta, we are pleased that we were able to secure direct service to one of the premier airports in the world for the travelers of Greater Binghamton,” said County Executive Fiala. “Our area fliers, both business and vacationers, will marvel at the number of domestic and international connections now available to them,” added Fiala.
“Our goal when negotiating with airlines is always to put the needs of the passengers first,” said Carl Beardsley, Commissioner of Aviation at the Greater Binghamton Airport. “Adding this service to our airport is a homerun for all of our travelers and we hope it will be a homerun for the airline as well.”
