Broome County Sponsors Sixth Annual Book Recycling Fair
Help us reuse and recycle books to promote literacy and protect the environment.
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County is sponsoring its Sixth Annual Book Recycling Fair at Cornell Cooperative Extension, 840 Upper Front Street, Binghamton, NY. The annual event seeks to return books to circulation, increase recycling and promote literacy programs.
Books can be dropped off at Cornell Cooperative Extension from Thursday, September 9th through Saturday, September 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Books will only be collected during this time period, and will not be available until give-away days. All types of books will be accepted.
Books will be available to the public at the Book Give-Away Days on Friday, September 17th and Saturday, September 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The books are free to everyone, but not intended to be resold.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks. Individuals who are capable of heavy lifting or are interested in sorting books for quality are especially needed to help ensure this event's success. For more information or to volunteer please call 607.778.2116 or email smerola@co.broome.ny.us
