Whitney Point Community Lake Bikeway/Walkway Ground Breaking

BINGHAMTON, NY - On Wednesday, September 22nd at 10:30 a.m. the Whitney Point Rotary and the Broome County Department of Parks and Recreation will break ground on the new Whitney Point Community Lake Bikeway/Walkway. You are cordially invited to join me at the ground breaking ceremony as we celebrate the exciting addition of this trail to Broome County's extensive recreational walkway system.

Broome County takes great pride in its ability to provide residents with many venues for recreation and physical fitness at our County Parks and within our many local communities. "Walkable Communities" provide municipalities with greater opportunities for social interaction, physical exercise, pedestrian transportation and diminished crime rates.

When completed, the new trail will connect the Village of Whitney Point with Broome County's Dorchester Park and will provide Northern Broome County with an additional site to access all the benefits of a "Walkable Community".

Please take Route 11N to Whitney Point, turn right on Kiebel Road and proceed ¾ mile to the ground breaking site on the right hand side of Kiebel Road, (follow the signs).

I hope you will be able to join me, as well as the Broome County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Whitney Point Rotary for this exciting ground breaking event.
