Delta Connection Officials Visit The Greater Binghamton Airport
Passenger boardings continue to increase

BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive, Jeffrey P. Kraham is pleased to announce that the President of Comair, Randy Rademacher, along with accompanying airline officials visited the Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM) today to congratulate the local station employees on their successful first eight months in service.

This stop at the Greater Binghamton Airport is a part of a "barnstorming tour" where Delta Connection officials visit chosen stations to deliver a message of thanks to their employees. Although it has only been in existence for eight months, Delta Connections BGM station has accomplished many accolades of note. In comparison to Delta Connection's 110 other stations, BGM has ranked no lower than fourth in the Overall Performance Category and achieved number 1 status this past July. The category takes into account on-time performance, flight completion and customer service response. In addition, Delta Connections' local passenger boardings continue to rise and with each month they are exceeding the previous months figures. After exceeding the 2,000-passenger mark in July at BGM, Delta Connection rose again to 2,158 passengers in August of this year.

"We are extremely pleased to report Delta Connection's immediate success at the Greater Binghamton Airport," said Mr. Kraham. "During Mr. Rademacher's visit to our airport he reinforced Delta Connection's dedication to our community and the dedication of the local employees who work for Delta Connection at BGM," added Kraham.

In addition, County Executive Kraham announced August passenger boardings at the Greater Binghamton Airport have increased by 9.2% compared to the same period last year. In August of 2003, 12,208 passengers flew from BGM compared to 11,176 in August of 2002. This represents the thirteenth consecutive month that passenger boardings at BGM have increased over the previous year.

Year-to-date figures through August 2003, 85,484 passengers flew from the Greater Binghamton Airport, which equates to an increase of 8.0% over the same period in 2002. In comparison, according to the Air Transport Association, through August, nationwide traffic is down 4.8%.
