October Is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Family Violence Prevention Council to announce Camera Project

BINGHAMTON, NY - October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Broome County's Family Violence Prevention Council will be holding a press conference on Friday, October 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension in the auditorium, 840 Front St, Binghamton, NY.

The Council hopes to focus the community's attention on the issue of Domestic Violence during the month of October by holding this press conference where an announcement for funding of the council project "Cameras For Local Police Agencies For Evidence Collection In Domestic Violence Cases" will be made. In addition Broome County Executive Jeff Kraham will be present to proclaim October National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Broome County.

The impact of Domestic Violence on the lives of men, women and children is tremendous. The Family Violence Prevention Council of Broome County wants domestic violence to stop and is taking steps to address the incidence and effects of domestic violence in Broome County.
