Kraham Honors Crowley Foods, O.F.A. Volunteers
BINGHAMTON, NY - During a recent dinner held at the Holiday Inn Arena in downtown Binghamton, County Executive Jeffrey P. Kraham more than 650 volunteers for their astounding 72,518 hours of service to the Broome County Office for Aging and senior citizens living in Broome County.
Mr. Kraham presented Crowley Foods with a Corporate Community Service Award for its years of commitment and support to the county's senior citizens. Crowley encourages its employees to take time away from work to deliver meals to homebound elderly.
"On behalf of the people of Broome County, I offer my heartfelt appreciation to Crowley Food for their ongoing commitment to the senior citizens of this community," said Mr. Kraham. "Meals on Wheels is one of the most important programs we provide. It wouldn't be possible without volunteers. I commend each of our volunteers for their time and dedication to this effort."
Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed
BINGHAMTON, N.Y - Kathleen Bunnell, Director of the Office for Aging, announced today that volunteers are desperately needed for the Meals on Wheels Program in the City of Binghamton.
"Meals on Wheels" provides service to 300 people over 20 different routes. Teams of two volunteers deliver on each route making between 10 and 12 stops per route. Anyone who can spare two hours once a week for this program is encouraged to contact the Meals on Wheels Office at 607.778.6206.
