Bells Over Broome For Breast Cancer Awareness

The Southern Tier Healthy Living Partnership and the Broome County Council of Churches have united to raise awareness about Breast Cancer during breast cancer awareness month.

On Sunday, October 15, 2000 several area Churches will chime their bells in remembrance of those women who have lost their lives to breast cancer, and honor those women who continue to battle the disease.

This awareness event is one of many in the area created to alert women over 40 of the importance of yearly mammograms.

The Southern Tier Healthy Living Partnership can assist with coverage for women who are uninsured or have insurance that will not cover breast cancer screenings. The counties covered by the Partnership include Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Tioga.
