Binghamton Tri-County HIV Care Network Hosts Legislative Brunch
BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Tri-County HIV Care Network will host a Legislative Brunch on Thursday, October 26, 2006 from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. at the Eaton Center, 5th floor Summit Room, Conkey Ave., Norwich, NY. The purpose of the brunch is to increase awareness of legislative issues affecting persons living with HIV/AIDS.
During the brunch, Assemblyman Clifford Crouch will be presented with an award from the Network for providing funding to the Southern Tier AIDS Program for the Youth Conference that was held in Norwich on March 31, 2006. Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo is also scheduled to appear. Other state legislators for Broome, Chenango and Tioga counties have been invited and may also attend.
Following the brunch, Tina Barber from Binghamton University will present an educational program, “Understanding the Culture of Generational Poverty.” This program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at noon.
There is no charge for either program. Registration for the brunch and educational program is required due to space limitations. Call the Chenango Health Network at 607.337.4128 to register.
