Greater Binghamton Airport Records 14th Consecutive Month Of Increased Passenger Boardings
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive, Jeffrey P. Kraham announced today that September passenger boardings at the Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM) have increased by 15.1% compared to the same period last year. In September of 2003, 9,877 passengers flew from BGM compared to 8,580 in September of 2002. In further comparison, the 2003 figure represents the highest September value at BGM since 1999.
September 2003 also represents the fourteenth consecutive month that the airport has experienced increased passenger traffic over the previous year. Year-to-date through the end of September, 95,361 passengers flew from the Greater Binghamton Airport, which is an increase of 8.7% over the same period in 2002. According to the Air Transport Association, through September, nationwide passenger traffic is down 1.8%.

"Everyday more people from Elmira, Ithaca and Northeastern Pennsylvania make BGM their choice for air travel. Working with our airline partners, we are committed to providing the level of service and the types of amenities that our travelers want and need," said Kraham.
Currently, the Greater Binghamton Airport offers service from 4 of the nation's 7 largest airlines with 40 flights per day (1/3 of these flights utilize new regional jet aircraft) providing convenient service to most domestic and international destinations. The airlines currently serving the Greater Binghamton area include Delta Connection, Northwest Airlink, United Express and US Airways Express. From these airlines, non-stop service is available to Cincinnati, Detroit, Washington DC, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, respectively.
