Northwest Airlines Adds Service Between Binghamton And Detroit
Fourth daily flight begins January 4, 2005
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive, Jeff Kraham and Northwest Airlines today announced that Northwest will increase service between the Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM) and its WorldGateway hub at Detroit.
Beginning January 4, 2005, Northwest will add a 4th daily flight departing midday from the Greater Binghamton Airport which will complement the current Binghamton-Detroit Service.
"Over the past two years the Greater Binghamton Airport has been experiencing an unprecedented period of growth in passenger boardings. Northwest's passenger traffic is up 5% year to date at BGM and compared to 2002 traffic has increased 56%," said Broome County Executive Kraham. "This recent decision by Northwest to place another flight at the Greater Binghamton Airport signifies their confidence in this airport and the growth potential of this market."
