Flu Vaccine Availability

BINGHAMTON, NY - The influenza vaccine for the Broome County Health Department and Office for Aging Senior clinics has not been received as of yet. At this time, flu clinics that were tentatively scheduled have been postponed. The Broome County Health Department and the Office for Aging will notify the public of a final schedule as soon as vaccine is available.

Some delays in distribution of the vaccine were projected by the Centers for Disease Control for the 2001 - 2002 flu season. No shortages are expected however.

Some medical providers in our community have received partial shipments of flu vaccine. Individuals are advised to contact their medical provider concerning availability of the vaccine for patients.

Residents are encouraged to watch news announcements for flu vaccine availability in the coming weeks. The Broome County Health Department Influenza Information Line has recorded information concerning availability of flu vaccine and will include the clinic schedule when it is finalized. Please call 607.778.3911 option 1, for recorded information anytime.
