Working Parents Benefit From BC Transit's Free Bus Pass Program
BINGHAMTON, NY - BC Transit would like residents of Broome County to know that they may qualify for a unique free bus pass program. Grant monies awarded to BC Transit allow working parents, with at least 1 dependent child under the age or 18, to ride the bus for free when going to and returning from work. Working parents must meet certain income guidelines and speak with a transit coordinator to determine eligibility. The free passes are good on all BC Transit routes and can be used by first, second and third shift employees.
"Getting people employed and keeping them employed is a top priority for Broome County," said County Executive Jeff Kraham. "Very often working parents have a difficult time finding accessible, affordable and reliable transportation to get to and from the work site. BC Transit's free bus pass program, extended service hours and a fleet of buses that travel throughout the county make going to work more convenient than ever," said Mr. Kraham.
Broome County residents interested in this program are encouraged to call 607.778.6515 for more information.
