Greater Binghamton Airshow 2007

BINGHAMTON, NY - After a two year absence from our skies, the Greater Binghamton Airshow will return to Broome County. This popular family event is poised to return to the Greater Binghamton Airport, June 29th – June 30th!

“We are so excited to bring the Airshow back to our community,” said Barbara J. Fiala, Broome County Executive. “We have such an exciting event planned this year with plenty of variety and something for everyone,” added Fiala.

Airshow 2007 will feature a Night Airshow, on Friday June 29th, a first in Broome County. Aircraft, specially equipped to carry and launch fireworks and other pyrotechnical devices, will perform after sunset for an exciting new twist on airshow performances. The night airshow will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display in honor of our Nation's Independence.

Saturday, June 30th, will bring the traditional daytime airshow with powerful military jets such as the US Air Force F-15 and the US Navy F-18 demonstrating their awesome capabilities. World War II era aircraft will also take to the skies joining in formation with modern day fighters for historic Heritage Flights. In addition to our military aviation, past and present, incredible civilian performers will leave spectators in awe doing seemingly impossible aerobatic maneuvers with their high performance aircraft.

“This airshow will be new, exciting, and unlike anything this community has ever seen.” said David Hickling, Broome County Deputy Commissioner of Aviation, “We have jets, we have the Warbirds, and now we are going to light up the night!”

The Greater Binghamton Airshow will start Friday June 29th with the Night Airshow. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with performances beginning at 7:00 p.m. Gates will open at 10:00 a.m. for Saturday's event with opening ceremonies at 11:30 a.m.
