US Airways Binghamton Feature Released
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala joined by Mayor Ryan, contributors and distinguished guests hosted a luncheon August 1st to unveil the August Profile of Greater Binghamton in the US Airways magazine. The month long feature will be placed on all US Airways flights and is estimated to reach over 6 million travelers.
“This is the first time we have had the ability to market our area globally,” said Executive Fiala. “I am pleased we have been able to take advantage of this opportunity to promote Greater Binghamton and touch upon our innovative commerce. We will continue to market ourselves and the fine attributes this area has to offer.”
The Greater Binghamton Profile highlights several local firms including: Lockheed Martin, Raymond Corporation, Rockwell Collins, United Health Services, EMS Technologies, Binghamton University and others. At 23 pages in length, readers get a snapshot into the community that is described as, “a beautiful geographic area that is safe and livable.” The profile describes the loss of companies like IBM and the new innovative companies like Diamond Visionics, and Rockwell Collins that emerged and redefined the area's economic scope.
The emphasis on emerging technologies budding in the area is coupled with a snapshot into the support and features of local economic development agencies. The Greater Binghamton Coalition, Broome County IDA, Greater Binghamton Chamber, Broome County and City of Binghamton Economic Development Offices are highlighted for their cooperative nature and creation of a “one stop approach”.
