Senior Games Clinics

Summer is finally here, the sun is shinning and the weather is warm, so come join the fun outside! Are you interested in learning and trying something new? Or are you ready to revisit one of your old favorite pastimes? Broome County Senior Games is offering free clinics for any one age 55 or older interested in learning to play bocce, golf, floor shuffleboard or pickleball.

You may have heard of golf, but what about pickleball? Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports. It is a slowed down version of tennis, played with wooden paddles and a plastic perforated ball. It is easy to teach and easy to learn, and played on a badminton size court which makes it fast hitting, but less strenuous than tennis.

What about bocce? It is so popular that Otsiningo Park recently installed a bocce court. Bocce has some similarities with bowling: it requires skill, strategy and just a little luck. Bocce is a great game to play outside on a beautiful day.

You may have seen golf on TV and heard of shuffleboard but come and get some hands-on experience.

Each clinic has so much to offer! You’ll learn the rules and techniques of the games and have fun playing. Accept this challenge and learn a healthy new activity with an experienced instructor. You might just find your new favorite pastime!
