"Spring" Into Wellness

-A A +A

Spring is here! Flowers are making their way for a fresh, new start this season and you should too. Why not try an activity program at a senior center close by! There are a variety of exercise and health-related programs scheduled, as well as entertainment, games, trips, and so much more.

Ever want to try to relax with Tai Chi? Relieve stress, improve balance, increase flexibility and promote wellness at one of the classes given at Broome West, Eastern Broome or Johnson City Senior Centers.

How about a high-energy, Zumba class? Based on dance moves choreographed to Latin and international music, this low impact dance aerobics class is available at First Ward, Johnson City and Broome West Senior Centers.

Chair Exercise classes are provided at Deposit, Vestal, Eastern Broome, Broome West and First Ward if you are looking to increase flexibility, range of motion and circulation, from the comforts of sitting in a chair.

Bonesaver Classes are offered at Northern Broome, First Ward, Broome West and East Side Congregational UCC to provide a low-intensity class, using light weights to help prevent osteoporosis and improve balance.

These are just a few of the MANY activities offered at the Broome County Senior Centers.  For additional information on starting or staying fit and active this Spring, call the Office for Aging at 778-2411 or visit our website at www.gobroomecounty.com/senior .
