The Broome County Sheriffs Office has arrested Perrin R Smith 26 of 195 Crocker Hill Road Port Crane NY and Derek N Monaco 29 of 1101 Taft Avenue Endicott NY both have been charged with two counts of Burglary in the 2^nd degree a class C Felony.

On December 22, 2008 Sheriffs Patrol Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Airport Road in the Town of Maine.  A home owner located Smith in her house upon returning home from work.  Smith fled the house and was located along with Monaco by Deputies and Troopers that were checking the immediate area.  A second burglary was discovered on Wyok Road in the Town of Maine and the two subjects were linked to that burglary as well. 

Sheriffs Detectives charged and arraigned both Smith and Monaco in the Town of Maine Court.  They were remanded to the Broome County Sheriffs Correctional Facility without bail.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible in this case.
