Broome County Pistol Permits:

Pistol Permits are $140.00 Cash or Money Order (Made payable to: Director of OMB)

Applicants must be 21 years of age and a Broome County resident.   

New pistol permit applications will ONLY be accepted for processing:  

Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

If you already have a pistol permit and with to be apart of the FOIL Exemption,  Select one of the links provided for the Foil Exemption Opt out Forms, fill out the form, print, sign and return by mail to the Broome County Sheriff’s Pistol Permit Office.

 Sheriff Identification Cards:

Must bring Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Proof Of Address, and, if married, a certified or original Marriage License (if female).
The cost is $10.00 and are issued the same day.

Public Fingerprinting:

Must Bring Identification and Fingerprint Card.
No Appointment Necessary.

Please ensure that your firearms are always secure.  Children especially are curious about firearms and don't have the restraint to leave them alone if they aren't properly secure.  Criminals also seek out gun owners in attempt to steal firearms for their value and to commit crimes.
