Broome-Tioga Workforce Graduates 16 from Opportunity Impact Training Program

Sixteen individuals are ready for new careers in manufacturing following their graduation from Broome-Tioga Workforce’s Opportunity Impact Training Program. The three-week program was designed by Broome-Tioga Workforce NY, SUNY-Broome, Triple Cities Makerspace, and industry leaders to accommodate students with or without experience in the manufacturing field. Upon their graduation, individuals will now be offered interviews with seven local manufacturing companies with more than 50 available positions.

“Manufacturing has always been a key component of our region’s economy,” said County Executive Jason Garnar. “Over the last few years, manufacturing jobs have grown locally and I appreciate Broome-Tioga Workforce’s efforts to make sure we have highly qualified people to fill available jobs. I’d like to be the first to congratulate these individuals on what we hope will be a successful and rewarding career.”
