Broome County State of Emergency and No Unnecessary Travel Order to Remain in Place Through this Weekend

(BROOME COUNTY, NY) The State of Emergency and no unnecessary travel order in Broome County due to the significant amount of snow received in the area this week will continue throughout the weekend. This decision was made after discussions with several Broome County departments and local municipalities.

Broome County officials will reevaluate where things stand Monday morning and provide an update.

A no unnecessary travel order means hazardous driving conditions still exist. Do NOT travel unless you have to. If you work then you should report to work, unless told otherwise, but use caution.

The Broome County Office of Emergency Services continues to remind county residents to stay safe and be smart when it comes to snow removal and being outdoors. If you are in need of food or physically unable to clear out snow, call 2-1-1 for assistance.
