Free Hazardous Waste & Electronic Recycling This Saturday

Get a new tv during the holidays and not sure what to do with the old one? Cleaning out the garage or basement? This Saturday at the Broome County Landfill is your chance to get rid of household chemicals and electronics during one of the County’s free hazardous waste & electronic recycling days.

The free drop-off event runs from 7:30 – 11:30 AM. Items that are accepted as hazardous waste include household cleaners, pesticides, fertilizer, fluorescent bulbs, fire extinguishers, pool chemicals, etc. Electronics accepted for recycling include computers, monitors (three or less), televisions (three or less), stereos, laptops, radios, fax machines, copiers, printers, cellphones, tablets, etc.

These free drop off days are for Broome County residents (no businesses); Tioga County residents are only permitted to utilize the free drop off days April-November. Items are accepted on non-designated days for a $5 flat fee during regular Landfill hours.
